Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Common Q+ Engineer to support the Common Q platform and guide its technical direction for the future of Instrumentation and Control (I&C). The role reports to the Manager, Common Q and CE Safety Systems - Safety & Reactor Systems Engineering and is hybrid at the Warrendale, PA facility.

You will develop and support business cases for platform upgrades, deliver projects on time and within budget, and ensure regulatory approvals are maintained with NRC

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (required).
• Experienced engineer with an understanding of I&C systems, including hardware and software.
• Understanding of safety platforms.
• Knowledge of FPGA and CPLD technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support business cases for Common Q platform upgrades.
• Provide technical guidance for ongoing platform upgrades.
• Deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Support the development and integration of Common Q+, including the integration of AC160 and ALS.
• Provide technical support for upgrade and new-plant project needs.
• Work with Licensing to ensure products maintain NRC and international regulatory approval for use.

About the role:

The Common Q+ Engineer supports the Common Q platform as a foundation for the future of Instrumentation and Control (I&C). This role ensures the platform is properly maintained and that issues are identified and resolved. The role also guides the platform's technical direction so that Common Q+ products remain competitive and viable in the global market.

You will report to the Manager, Common Q and CE Safety Systems - Safety & Reactor Systems Engineering and be hybrid at the Warrendale, PA facility.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
