Job summary

Engineering Systems, Inc. (ESi) seeks a seasoned professional to lead investigations and failure analyses across industrial and safety domains. You will work on complex projects for law firms, insurers, and manufacturers, delivering rigorous technical evaluations and risk assessments.

The role emphasizes high-quality reporting, client interaction, and potential courtroom testimony. Travel to client sites is required from time to time within a national practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.
• Master's degree or Ph.D. highly preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Certified Safety Professional (C.S.P.) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates root causes in industrial and recreational accidents, including machine safeguarding and risk reduction.
• Reviews media and reports to develop preliminary conclusions and plan investigations.
• Conducts inspections of accident scenes and involved machines and safety equipment.
• Applies standards, literature, and regulations to safety analyses.
• Designs tests or models to evaluate machine performance and human factors data.
• Performs risk assessments and job safety analyses as part of a team.
• Prepares written reports and presents findings clearly.
