Job summary

Cherokee Millwright, Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to provide technical safety and health support to production and corporate teams. The role develops safety programs, ensures regulatory compliance, and coordinates safety training to meet federal and state requirements.

You will collaborate across engineering, HR, legal, operations, and R&D to implement safety policies, conduct hazard analyses, and promote a safe working environment throughout the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety science, engineering or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in a safety manager position or higher.

Responsibilities

• Works with engineering, HR, legal, operations, and R&D.
• Provides technical safety and health support to personnel.
• Prepares safety programs and policies.
• Updates safety databases and internal records.
• Identifies training needs and coordinates programs.
• Organizes annual safety training day.
• Develops annual safety goals.
• Supports product/process reviews and hazard analyses.
• Implements engineering controls to minimize hazards.
• Assists in PPE selection.
• Maintains corporate safety library.
• Promotes safety awareness via memos and training.
• Reviews procedures/records with safety input.
• Monitors regulations and compliance.
• Provides regulatory change notices to plants.
• Audits practices and records for compliance.
• Monitors injuries/claims.
• Reviews safety inspection reports.
