Job summary

Cherokee Millwright, Inc. is seeking a Safety Manager to provide technical safety and health support across production and corporate personnel, developing programs and coordinating training to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

The role involves auditing practices, maintaining safety databases, and partnering with engineering, HR, legal, operations, and R&D to implement engineering controls and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety science, engineering or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in a safety manager position or higher.
• Strong ability to develop safety programs, coordinate training and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical safety and health support to production and corporate personnel.
• Develop and coordinate safety training programs and annual safety goals.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Audit practices and records to ensure adherence to company programs and safety regulations.
• Support engineering and operations with safety controls and PPE selection.
