Job summary

Inteplast Group in Lewistown, PA seeks a Sr. Safety Coordinator to support the Safety Supervisor, ensuring OSHA compliance and safety initiatives. You'll assist with training materials, inspections, and employee engagement while maintaining logs and incident documentation.

You will interact across all levels, manage PPE monitoring, and help lead drills with the Emergency Response Team, SDS management, and safety observations within a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2 years manufacturing experience.
• Previous safety experience preferred.
• Basic OSHA knowledge in a manufacturing setting.
• Understanding of workers’ compensation and safety reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Proficient computer and documentation skills.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours as necessary.
• Ability to manage job-related stress and foster productive interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Safety Supervisor with daily safety activities and initiatives.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and report findings.
• Assist in preparing and coordinating training materials.
• Support safety awareness and employee engagement activities.
• Maintain OSHA logs and safety documentation.
• Monitor PPE compliance and report concerns.
• Assist with incident investigations and documentation.
• Support Emergency Response Team activities and drills.
• Maintain SDS / Right-to-Know stations.
• Follow up on corrective actions from inspections.
• Keep organized safety files and records.
• Assist with housekeeping and 5-S audits.
• Participate in plant walkthroughs and safety observations.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
