Sheakley is seeking a Senior Construction Safety Coordinator in Columbus, OH for a 12-18 month 1099 contract. The role involves field oversight across mechanical and fire protection crews on a semiconductor facility project, with a strong emphasis on OSHA compliance and hazard mitigation.

Travelers earning $50/hr and locals at $52/hr, with a weekly payroll and $125/day per diem for travelers. The schedule includes extended hours, 60+ hours/week, and potential Saturday work based on project needs.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification required.
• CHST or STSC credential preferred.
• OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510 training desired.
• Minimum 10+ years of construction safety experience.
• Must have mechanical experience on industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily field safety oversight for mechanical and fire protection construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible safety presence across active work areas.
• Monitor fire alarm, sprinkler, and related mechanical installations.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and JHA reviews.
• Review permits, pre-task plans, and safety documentation; coordinate actions with supervision.
• Provide safety coaching to craft personnel and reinforce safe work practices.
• Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, and contractors.
• Support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workforce engagement.

Pay Rate: $50/hr (Traveler) | $52/hr (Local)

Per Diem: $125/Day (7 Days Per Week for Travelers)

Completion Bonus: $150/month

Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday/Saturday | 60+ Hours Per Week

What You'll Be Doing
