Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Construction Safety Manager for a long-term HVAC/mechanical project in Franklin Furnace, OH. This 1099 contractor role requires hands-on field safety leadership and strong knowledge of construction safety practices.

You will partner with project management, foremen, and subcontractors to maintain a robust safety culture, perform routine observations, manage incident reporting, and ensure OSHA compliance on site.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Experience in mechanical construction projects.
• Experience managing safety on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day field safety oversight for HVAC and mechanical construction activities.
• Work directly with project management, superintendents, foremen, and craft personnel to support safe work execution.
• Conduct routine field safety observations and identify unsafe conditions or work practices.
• Support pre-task planning, job hazard analysis, and daily safety activities.
• Monitor mechanical installation activities, equipment setting, material handling, and elevated work.
• Support compliance with site safety requirements and applicable OSHA requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Assist with incident reporting, documentation, and corrective-action follow-up.
• Maintain safety documentation and records required for project activities.
• Reinforce safe work practices while maintaining a visible presence in active work areas

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $55/hr Travel | $58/hr Local
Per Diem: $125 Daily
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: 58 Hours Per Week | Monday-Saturday | Day Shift
Additional Hours: Saturday work may be required based on project needs

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting mechanical equipment installation and material handling activities
• Experience overseeing elevated work and other high-risk construction activities
• CHST preferred
