Alliant Energy in Madison, WI seeks a Senior Safety Consultant to lead safety activities, evaluations and incident reviews across business units. You will ensure regulatory compliance, develop safety policy and deliver training to communicate safety concerns with internal and external audiences.

The role requires 5 years of experience, a Bachelor’s degree in safety-related fields, and strong analytical and communication skills to drive safer work practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, physical or natural sciences, or related area.
• Preferred CSP, CUSA, and/or CIH designation.
• 5 years of experience in safety or related field.
• Experience with incident investigations employing a learning team model.
• Ability to analyze safety regulations and communicate findings clearly.

Responsabilités

• Identify hazards in corporate and energy operations units, and assess conditions, methods, or processes with potential to cause harm.
• Perform visual inspections, document reviews, interviews, literature searches, hazard analysis methods, and system safety analyses.
• Organize hazard evaluations and compare hazard levels to standards; may include safety testing and risk calculations.
• Investigate complaints, exposures, accidents, injuries, and illness incidents with related standards review.
• Review safety practices to identify safer work methods and apply direct controls to reduce injuries.
• Guide local safety leadership teams in implementing safety measures.
• Create safety communications in audio, visual, printed formats, and other media.
• Prepare safety information to aid audiences in understanding and applying knowledge.
• Track safety performance and provide periodic updates; manage OSHA recordkeeping.
• Monitor industrial hygiene and assess environmental workplace hazards (air quality, chemicals, heat, hearing, respiration, bloodborne pathogens, asbestos, lead).
• Engage in other duties supporting Alliant Energy's safety values and mission.
