Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Senior Safety Consultant to lead safety evaluations, incident reviews, and training across business units. You will assess compliance with safety laws and help develop safety policy and communications to protect workers and assets.

Responsibilities include hazard identification, inspections, incident investigations, and coordinating with safety leadership teams to reduce injuries, while tracking performance and OSHA recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, physical or natural sciences or related area preferred.
• CSP, CUSA and/or CIH designation preferred.
• 5 years of experience required.
• Experience in safety, industrial hygiene, emergency management, safety management, or compliance planning preferred.
• Experience with incident investigations utilizing a learning team model.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hazard identification and safety evaluations across units.
• Perform inspections, document reviews, interviews, and hazard analyses.
• Evaluate hazard levels and risk, including equipment testing as needed.
• Investigate complaints, exposures, accidents, and related standards.
• Advise local safety leadership on measures to reduce injuries and incidents.
• Develop safety communications for diverse audiences; assist in policy dissemination.
• Track safety performance metrics and OSHA recordkeeping activities.
• Conduct Industrial Hygiene monitoring and evaluate workplace hazards.
• Collaborate to support Alliant Energy's safety goals.
