Job description

Senior Safety Administrator – Boston, MA

Transdev is seeking a Senior Safety Administrator for its Boston Public Schools transportation contract. The role monitors and enforces safety policies, supervisors safety checks, identifies unsafe conditions, and ensures implementation of safety recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain department operations and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Ensure contract compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations and manage related record keeping.
  • Provide support in implementing approved safety recommendations.
  • Train and delegate responsibilities to administrative staff on safety standards.
  • Manage the return-to-work process and maintain contact with injured employees and insurance carriers.
  • Coordinate with insurers for accident and incident investigations and follow-up actions.
  • Compile employee data and create DQ files for new hires.
  • Maintain and purge employment files, ensuring proper storage of terminated employee records.
  • Track missing information, report inconsistencies, and follow up with stakeholders.
  • Assist with audits of DQ files and collect required documentation.
  • Manage electronic and hard copy file systems.
  • Maintain current database of Boston School Bus Driver training and re‑certifications, and coordinate scheduling per agreements and mandates.
  • Participate in quarterly claim reviews and manage collision activities.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and reporting.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Ability to identify OSHA recordable and reportable events.
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Handles sensitive documentation with confidentiality and decorum.
  • Interacts professionally with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Handles multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Travel outside of immediate area (percentage unspecified).
Physical Requirements
  • 90% of work conducted indoors in air‑conditioned or well‑ventilated facilities.
  • Sitting for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day) typing or using a computer.
  • Push and pull objects up to 10 pounds; lift materials up to 20 lbs.; occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
