Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems is hiring a Senior engineer to lead SAFe ART coordination and agile execution on-site in Sterling Heights, MI. You will align multiple Agile teams, remove impediments, and drive value using SAFe, DevSecOps, and modern software practices.

The role emphasizes facilitation, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement across PI cycles, with a 9/80 work schedule and opportunities for professional growth within a global defense firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree (Masters preferred) in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years related engineering experience.
• Prior experience as a Scrum Master or Agile coach.
• Deep understanding of SAFe, Agile, and Lean principles.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and servant-leadership skills.
• Ability to manage complex cross-team dependencies and risks.
• Skilled in coaching, conflict resolution, and organizational change.
• Comfortable presenting to wide audience including Customer, Leadership, and cross-discipline teams.
• Experience with technical program management for complex systems.
• Ability to align objectives with a cross functional team.
• Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills.
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
• Be eligible to obtain a US security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute scope, budget, schedule, technical work planning, tracking, and transfer of technology & software.
• Manage subcontractor engagements to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Participate in design reviews and development efforts.
• Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) events and execution.
• Lead and coordinate PI Planning and ensure alignment across teams.
• Coordinate ART ceremonies and maintain calendar adherence for PI cycles.
• Ensure transparency and execution throughout the PI lifecycle.
• Optimize flow of value and manage ART delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Identify, manage bottlenecks, risks, and resource constraints.
• Remove impediments and escalate issues blocking progress.
• Coach Scrum Masters, Agile teams, and leaders in SAFe principles.
• Assess ART agility and guide continuous improvement.
• Coordinate across teams and stakeholders; liaise between product management, development and leadership.
• Manage dependencies between teams and release trains; foster collaboration across ARTs.
• Facilitate Inspect & Adapt events after each PI and collect metrics to improve performance.
