Job summary

Fivetran is hiring a Senior Engineer for the Fusion Adapters and Connectivity team. You will design and ship Rust-first connectivity layers, adapters, and execution APIs that enable data workloads to run across diverse engines and platforms.

You’ll partner with dbt Labs teams and open-source communities to evolve interfaces, contribute to Arrow/ADBC, and own quality, testing, and release readiness. This role emphasizes reliability, ownership, and collaboration in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with strong systems-level skills.
• Experience with open-source, SDKs, runtimes, or low-level integrations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent OSS contributions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Rust-first connectivity layers and adapters.
• Collaborate with teams working on the dbt compiler, semantic layer, and runtime.
• Contribute to open-source specs or implementations like Arrow/ADBC.
• Own CI, testing, profiling, error reporting, and release readiness for Fusion adapters.
• Debug interoperability and performance across drivers, engines, and compute domains.
• Review PRs, write RFCs, and evolve public code architectures with maintainers.
• Mentor engineers on best practices, debuggability, and API clarity.
