Job summary

Mirantis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Rust to design and build production-grade control planes for AI-ready infrastructure. You will work on high-density, high-throughput systems, with focus on datacenter networking, DPU architectures, and automated bare-metal provisioning.

Responsibilities include API design, Kubernetes operator development, and end-to-end observability using OpenTelemetry across polyglot services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in cloud-native platforms or systems programming.
• Primary mastery of Rust (Tokio async runtime, Tonic, Axum, sqlx) and proficiency in Go (secondary).
• Concurrency & Reliability: strong async concurrency models and distributed state handling.
• Kubernetes Control Planes: experience with custom controllers/operators using kube-rs.

Responsibilities

• Control Plane Development: design, build, and maintain production-grade control plane microservices and operators in Rust and Go.
• Architecture & API Design: create functional and non-functional specs and API schemas (gRPC/REST).
• Network Integration: develop integrations for modern network operating systems and DPU hardware.
• Observability & Diagnostics: instrument services with OpenTelemetry traces and metrics.
