Job summary

Bold Penguin is seeking a Staff Engineer to tackle our hardest problems by leading and architecting scalable solutions while contributing as a strong individual contributor. You’ll influence the engineering discipline and drive secure, resilient cloud-based systems.

You will collaborate with product teams, designers, and SREs to deliver high-impact features end-to-end, mentor junior engineers, and champion best practices across the full SDLC in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional engineering experience.
• 5 years of technical experience with Bold Penguin technologies.
• Experience in high-growth technology companies and/or startups.
• Ability to articulate very complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical people.
• Experience building highly resilient, cloud-native applications.
• Full-stack expertise in multiple tiers of modern web applications.
• Bonus points for open-source contributions and/or speaking experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and architect high-complexity features across product teams.
• Ensure solutions are secure, performative, and fault-tolerant.
• Expert in modern cloud architecture, CI/CD, DevOps, and SRE.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, SREs, and customers to build powerful products.
• Participate in the full SDLC from ideation to delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers to promote career growth on the team.
