Job description

This is a hands-on position involving requirements analysis, design discussions, testing, proof-of-concept, collaboration with partners, and more. It is not task-based; you will be responsible for successful outcomes and delivery. Strong fundamentals are essential, but more qualities are required: taking responsibility, personal stake in shipped products, clear communication of scope, integrity, understanding how things work, team success orientation, thriving in uncertainty, deep wisdom and judgment, focus, relationship building, continuous improvement, prescience, and experience with products used by millions.

Essential functions

1. Build new capabilities in an existing Ruby on Rails web application.
2. Write consistent, well-thought-out unit and system tests for all new features.
3. Enhance existing CRUD operations within the evaluation data model and framework.
4. Deliver simple, consistent solutions aligned with existing CSS and JS conventions.
5. Improve the web UI with intuitive interfaces for data collection.
6. Develop performant solutions prioritizing customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proficiency in Ruby on Rails web development.
• Strong SQL skills, especially with Postgres.
• Ability to understand complex Rails controllers.
• Experience with nested attributes in Rails models.
• Proper utilization of Bootstrap JS.
• Knowledge of ActiveJob framework for offloading tasks.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
• BS/BA in computer science or related field preferred.
