Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Ruby and Ruby on Rails, with strong knowledge of framework internals and high-concurrency scaling.
• Proven track record architecting scalable distributed systems and resilient microservices.
• Advanced PostgreSQL knowledge, plus distributed caching and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building cloud-native solutions on AWS with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical guide across the software lifecycle, steering architecture and engineering execution.
• Architect and implement high-throughput, fault-tolerant distributed solutions and APIs using Ruby on Rails.
• Define architectural standards, service boundaries, and non-functional requirements like high availability and latency.
• Collaborate with delivery/product architects to convert business requirements into technical roadmaps.
• Drive code health, automated testing, and code reviews to maintain engineering discipline.
• Lead RCA on production issues and implement long-term architectural remediations.
• Mentor mid-level and senior engineers to raise the technical bar across the department.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and patterns to keep the platform modern and competitive.
