Job summary

Debifi is seeking a Senior Ruby Developer to build core backend systems for a peer-to-peer Bitcoin trading and lending platform. You will own architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and contribute to secure, high-performance services powering a growing, global user base.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, code reviews, and collaboration with product and leadership to deliver features end-to-end while maintaining strong security and scalability standards. Fully remote with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Ruby on Rails experience, including 2+ years in a lead or senior backend role.
• Strong expertise in Ruby (3+) and Rails (7/8), including performance tuning.
• Experience designing and scaling backend systems in production (microservices, event-driven).
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL with query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with core backend tools and infrastructure: Redis, Sidekiq, WebSockets, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/Oracle Cloud.
• Security-focused with OWASP mindset and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop core backend systems powering a peer-to-peer Bitcoin trading and lending platform.
• Develop features, design, build, and maintain secure, high-performance Rails services.
• Contribute to architecture and technical direction to ensure reliability and maintainability.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the stack (app, DB, infra).
• Write clean, secure, and well-tested code; participate in reviews and ship end-to-end.
• Collaborate with a small team to ship features iteratively and improve quality.
