Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. seeks a Sr. Title Agent to work on site in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role requires strong knowledge in right of way disciplines, title research, documentation, and land/ownership analysis to support project needs.

You will negotiate PPE rights, maintain detailed records, and ensure compliance with safety plans, while collaborating with the ROW team on various property-based tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred or relevant experience.
• Experience as a title agent or a related title position.
• Experience researching land ownership; proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Specialized knowledge in title research methods; land description and terminology; cure defects on the title.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and use judgment while researching county records.

Responsibilities

• Assist ROW Supervisor in providing guidance to ROW Agents; secure permission to enter properties from landowners and tenants.
• Negotiate ROW options, easements, fee interest, and curative documents while maintaining ROW price policy.
• Assist in developing a construction line from conditions/restrictions placed on the ROW by landowners/tenants.
• Maintain a detailed diary of contacts for each property owner and tenant; prepare weekly activity reports.
• Maintain a detailed log of all payments.
• Negotiate Damage Settlements as required.
• Support all construction activities as required.
• Document all ROW activities as required.
• Adhere to project Safety Plan.
