Job summary

Movement is seeking an experienced Routesetter to join a collaborative, innovative team in Belmont. The role requires 3+ years of setting experience, working within a team to deliver high-quality climbs while maintaining safety standards.

You will manage daily workflow, mentor others, and contribute to activations and events across the gym. Starting pay ranges from $25 to $35 per hour with full-time hours and benefits such as free membership, in-gym discounts, guest visits, and health benefits.

Qualifications

• Solid setting experience (3+ years).
• Demonstrated efficiency and reliability as part of a setting team.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety expectations (Work at Height standards).
• Passion for the craft of routesetting.
• Ability to test accessibility, quality, and difficulty of climbs across a wide variety of styles.
• Thrive in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to manage your own workflow while helping others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare setting area (boundaries, fixed lines, etc.).
• Strip wall sections to prepare for new routes/problems.
• Set high quality skeletons on all terrain types.
• Maintain tidy setting area and help clean up at day’s end.
• Adhere to safety expectations (Work at Height standards).
• Forerun climbs to help grade routes/problems daily.
• Lead small forerunning groups as assigned by Head Setter/ADS.
• Assist in creation of color layout, grade distribution, and activations.
• Participate in anchor/safety inspections and training equipment setup.
