Job summary

US Foods is seeking a route scheduler to plan and sequence deliveries using RoadNet and mainframe systems. The role emphasizes timely, accurate routing, load balancing per trailer, and collaboration with Sales and Warehouse teams to ensure feasible deliveries.

The candidate will generate daily reports, maintain software parameters, and support drivers and dispatchers. A high school diploma and 4 years in a related setting are preferred, with strong English and computer skills required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• 4 years in related environment.
• Must read, write and communicate in English for job and safety regulations.
• Must have computer skills – data entry, report generation, spreadsheet design, data manipulation, mainframe downloads.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Ability to resolve issues of fairly non-routine nature with some independence.
• Ability to work scheduled hours and any overtime.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and sequence routes in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner using specified software.
• Balance loads per trailer by size and weight of product and pallets to be loaded.
• Build cost-effective routes while meeting customer needs.
• Coordinate with Sales and Warehouse Departments on delivery feasibility.
• Prepare daily routing reports (route changes, sequence changes, new customer requests).
• Maintain routing software system parameters (RoadNet and Mainframe).
