Job summary

Motiva Enterprises LLC in Houston is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to provide rotating equipment engineering for major capital projects, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance throughout the asset lifecycle.

You will lead equipment specifications, review supplier documentation, and support FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, and startup. Collaboration with Operations, Reliability, and Procurement is essential to meet standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years with rotating equipment in refining/related industries.
• Experience FEED through startup and equipment selection.
• Ability to interpret engineering standards and apply best practices.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Provide rotating equipment engineering support from concept to handover.
• Develop specs, datasheets, and technical requirements for rotating equipment.
• Review supplier proposals, drawings, and calculations.
• Ensure designs meet Motiva standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead MOC, risk assessments, and participation in P&ID/HAZOP reviews.
• Interface with suppliers and OEMs; coordinate multidisciplinary reviews.
• Support commissioning, startup, and operational troubleshooting.
