Job summary

Messer North America, Inc. is seeking a Lead Machinery Engineer to provide expert technical leadership within the Project Execution department for rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, expanders, and related systems.

The role covers design, specification, fabrication oversight, installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance, with strong collaboration across engineering disciplines. The successful candidate will drive equipment standards, contribute to proposals with preliminary

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE license is a plus (preferred)
Minimum of 7–15 years of relevant experience with rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, expanders, refrigeration systems, cooling towers and fans.
Willingness to travel 25–40% of time or as business requires. API-617/618, CGA experience desired.

Responsibilities

Lead design, specification, selection, commissioning and troubleshooting of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, expanders, refrigeration systems, and cooling towers).
Oversee engineering groups and field contractor teams during installation, commissioning and maintenance.
Interface with proposals group to generate preliminary design and cost information for projects.
Develop and implement Messer internal rotating equipment standards and procedures.
Represent Messer on professional standard committees such as CGA.
Mentor junior engineers in rotating equipment discipline.
