Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking an R&D Senior Software Engineer to drive architectures for scalable software across robotics systems. You will lead design, code reviews, and SDLC adherence while mentoring peers and shaping team culture.

Work involves Linux-based development, ROS, autonomy, and perception, with hands-on testing on real robot hardware and collaboration across manufacturing, commissioning, and development units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Production software design and implementation experience.
• Experience with Agile development and SOPs.
• Expert in Linux development.
• Strong C/C++ and Python expertise.
• Experience with CI/CD and testing methodologies.
• Containerization and deployment experience.
• Git proficiency.
• ROS experience.
• Eligibility to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
• Adherence to information security policies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to ROS-based C++ and Python codebases on Linux.
• Design software, lead reviews, and participate in SDLC processes.
• Own key development and act as a stakeholder in reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and practice peer programming.
• Plan in Agile workflows and develop SOPs for software.
• Create test plans and verify on live robots and hardware.
• Uphold safety standards with live equipment.
• Support field trials and customer beta deployments.
• Collaborate across Toyota teams during releases.
