Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking an experienced R&D Senior Software Engineer to lead robotics software across the stack, from low-level hardware interfaces to autonomy and perception, shipping production-quality code tested on real robots.

You will mentor engineers, drive SDLC processes, design scalable architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Boise, Dallas, Indianapolis, and remote sites. A strong background in ROS, Linux, C++, Python, and CI/CD is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/CE or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in software for robotics.
• Experience designing production software systems.
• Proven leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong knowledge of ROS, Linux, and real-time robotics software.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to ROS-based C++ and Python codebases on Linux.
• Design software architectures and lead code reviews within an SDLC framework.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
• Drive Agile planning, scoping, and scheduling.
• Develop test plans and verify software on live robot hardware.
• Ensure safety standards during live operations.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Commissioning, and Development teams during releases.
