Job summary

Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing in San Antonio, TX seeks an experienced Senior Estimating professional to lead estimating activities for new construction and remedial projects. You will coordinate with project estimators, perform field observations, onscreen estimating, and prepare proposals.

Ideal candidate has a four-year degree or 10 years in construction with at least 5 years estimating, strong communication and negotiation skills, and ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• SPE is primary contact in estimating process for each estimate.
• Collaborate with Project Estimators to manage estimating workflow.
• Perform field observations, onscreen estimating, proposal writing, and detail reviews.
• Lead client meetings and educate clients about scope and changes.
• Coordinate and manage change orders and association involvement.

Job description

• The SPE will be the primary contact in the entire estimating process on content and scope of each estimate they produce.


• Help manage process with Project Estimators on the team.


• Responsibilities include but are not limited to: field observations and inspections, onscreen estimating, proposal writing, detail review, client interactions, change order management and association involvement (on committees within associations).


• As the SPE they will be responsible for contract scope verification, client relationship and overall project engagement from start to finish. This includes coordinating and leading client education and client meetings.


• Must have a specific understanding of construction process for new construction and remedial projects within the scope of work (codes, wind uplift pressures, thermal and moisture intrusion, materials, and methods, etc.).


• Experience: If applicant does not have a four-year degree, they must have a minimum of ten (10) years construction experience with at least five (5) years of estimating experience


• Skills: Estimating software proficiency, Microsoft office, English speaking, bilingual preferred


• Abilities/Requirements:


• Must meet all requirements of PE-II


• Ability to interpret, understand and train others on construction documents


• Understand specific construction items (as listed in Job Description)


• Exceptional written and oral communication skills


• Problem solving and dispute resolution skills


• Strong work ethic/self-starter


• Advanced negotiation and relationship building skills (has current client base)
