Texas A&M University in College Station seeks a Senior Research Scientist to support the Computational and Experimental Assessments project, advancing research in national security, energy, and engineering. The role includes grant development, co-PI support, and mentorship of Ph.D.

students, with oversight of relevant laboratory facilities. The candidate will lead independent research, analyze rock mechanics properties with advanced instruments, and contribute to peer-reviewed publications,

Qualificações

• Ph.D. in applicable field.
• Eight years of related experience.
• Ability to move light objects with assistance.
• Ability to travel independently to other and/or remote locations by driving and/or flying on commercial airlines.

Responsabilidades

• Conducts complex independent research in field of expertise.
• Analysis of mechanical properties of rock using advanced instruments and machines.
• Writes and contributes to research publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Serves as co-PI on grants and supports grant acquisition.
• Mentors Ph.D. student researchers and serves on graduate committees.
• Assists with supervision of the Handin Laboratory for Experimental Rock Deformation.
