Job summary

Caterpillar seeks a Robotics Validation Architect to own evaluation methodology, benchmarking, sim-to-real, and scenario coverage for autonomous construction-site solutions. The Principal Digital Architect will shape validation architecture, set metrics, and collaborate with Simulation to define readiness and safety requirements.

You will help validate autonomous machines from sim to real, leading in AI-driven, edge-enabled platforms and data-centric engineering across global teams in Irving, TX.

Qualifications

• Analytical thinking to identify root causes and propose solutions.
• Knowledge of design and architecture principles; translate requirements into technical designs.
• Ability to design roadmaps and interfaces for end-users to access systems.
• Experience defining evaluation metrics and benchmarking for autonomous systems.
• Experience with sim-to-real and scenario coverage for validating autonomous behavior.
• Ability to define simulation requirements and partner on validation strategy.
• Understanding of safety validation and readiness for deployment.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and define architectural roadmaps across teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile SDLC in public cloud environments; CI/CD etc.
• Excellent communication; mentor and persuade others on new technologies.
