Job summary

Nuro seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Pose team, working on robust pose estimation for our autonomous robotics platform. You will build real-time C/C++ software, test in simulation and on robots, and contribute to navigation for logistics and transportation.

We value deep expertise in state estimation, probabilistic filtering, and sensor fusion, plus hands-on experience with sensors (IMU, encoders, GPS) and safety-critical software development.

Qualifications

• PhD and/or Masters in CS/EE/Robotics or related field.
• Deep understanding of state estimation, probabilistic filtering, 3D geometry.
• 3+ years of industry experience as a software engineer.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills; safety-critical software.
• Hands-on experience with sensor fusion for AV or drones.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, real-time vehicle pose estimation software for mobile robots.
• Research, develop, and deploy state-of-the-art pose estimation algorithms.
• Analyze and characterize the accuracy and performance of pose estimation across platforms.
• Build well-tested C/C++ software and deploy on robotic platforms and in simulation.
• Collaborate with autonomy, hardware, and systems teams on sensor selection and architectures.
