Job summary

Oishii is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Robotics to lead development of the software stack powering autonomous robotic strawberry harvesting. You will build and support software across perception, motion planning, and robotic controls, translating product requirements into production-ready code.

Requires 6+ years backend software engineering with 3+ years in robotics or automation, deep C++ skills, Linux, Python, ROS, and experience with observability tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years backend software engineering experience, including 3+ years robotics or automation.
• Deep expertise in C++ for scalable solutions.
• Proficiency with Linux, Python, shell scripting, Git, Jira.
• Working knowledge of ROS and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana is a plus.
• Experience translating operational issues into software improvements.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on lead, develop, maintain, and enhance the software stack powering autonomous robotic strawberry harvesting.
• Build and support software across the robotics stack, including SCADA communications, perception, motion planning, and robotic controls.
• Translate product requirements and technical designs into reliable, production-ready software.
• Validate new features and bug fixes through simulation, smoke testing, and field testing.
• Own and continuously improve key areas of the codebase, such as perception, motion planning, robotic interfaces, or controls.
• Partner with Operations to troubleshoot field issues, prioritize software improvements, and drive system reliability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with robotics, hardware, controls, and operations teams to deliver scalable automation solutions.
