Job summary

FieldAI’s Irvine team designs embodied AI systems with real robots and sensors for field deployments. The role focuses on building scalable LiDAR mapping and production-grade perception pipelines, deployed on real hardware in varied environments.

You will own workflows from data capture through validation, integrating laser scanners and validating mapping performance, to continuously improve reliability in production settings.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with robotics and 3D computer vision.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python, with production-quality coding experience.
• Solid knowledge of 3D geometry, computer vision, and robot kinematics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable LiDAR mapping algorithms for autonomous robot operations.
• Improve accuracy, robustness, and scalability of point cloud processing pipelines for online and offline mapping.
• Deploy large-scale mapping systems and data pipelines in production with quality deliverables.
• Validate mapping systems on real robots and in large-scale environments.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to meet project documentation and customer expectations.
