Job summary

Field AI is seeking a Mapping Solution Engineer to own the deployment, integration, and field performance of our 3D mapping solutions. You will work hands-on with robots, sensors, and large-scale data pipelines in real-world environments.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in robotics software, strong C++/Python coding, and experience with ROS, Git, and Linux. Travel to customer sites is required as needed, with opportunities for hybrid or remote work where feasible.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Geomatics or related field.
• 2+ years of robotics software development, 3D mapping, systems integration, or field deployment experience.
• Strong programming in C++ and Python with production-quality code.
• Experience with 3D geometry, point cloud processing, ICP, and NDT.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy production-grade 3D mapping software and data pipelines.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of mapping data products and customer handoff.
• Collaborate with robotics, software, operations, and customers to drive improvements.
• Translate deployment challenges into technical enhancements and scalable processes.
