Job summary

FieldAI’s Irvine team builds risk-aware, field-ready AI systems for embodied robotics. You will work on perception, 3D representation, and traversability representations used by real robots in field deployments.

The role spans designing learning-based approaches, sensor fusion, and deploying production-ready systems. Collaborative, cross-functional work with a focus on reliability and field validation.

Qualifications

• Degree required in a robotics/engineering field.
• Experience in verification, validation and perception evaluation.
• Experience with test plans, validation procedures, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Own 3D representations for navigation and traversal planning.
• Build, maintain, and validate perception systems for real-world robots.
• Develop and integrate sensor-based perception from diverse sensors.
• Deploy perception software on physical robots and iterate on field tests.
• Improve system robustness, scalability, and regression tooling.
• Collaborate across teams to define requirements and communicate tradeoffs.
