Job summary

Symbotic in Australia is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, and scale simulation systems that support robotic warehouse automation across multiple fidelity levels.

You will collaborate with robotics, controls, perception, cloud, QA and product teams, mentor others, and stay current with digital twin tech and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering iteration and decision making.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience, with simulation/robotics background preferred.
• Primary stack: ROS2, C++, Python; familiarity with cloud-based simulation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain simulation systems and virtual environments for robotic warehouse automation.
• Develop scalable, faster-than-real-time simulation environments for engineering analysis and planning.
• Support multi-level fidelity simulation: component, robot, fleet, and system.
• Evaluate tools and drive improvements for performance, scalability, and usability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align simulation with product goals and deployment needs.
• Mentor engineers, share best practices, and document architecture and usage.
