Job summary

Lab37 Robotics, based in Pittsburgh, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to own hardware modules, create CAD models, and document development, build, and test processes. You will collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and product managers to integrate mechanical designs with electronics and software components.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field), 3+ years of experience, and hands-on fabrication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
• Hands-on fabrication experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for robotic applications, ensuring functionality, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical designs with electronic and software components.
• Conduct hands-on prototype building and testing, analyzing performance data to iterate on designs.
• Utilize a variety of manufacturing processes and materials to optimize designs for performance and efficiency.
• Participate in design reviews, presenting design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders.
• Manage documentation related to project plans, design specifications, and testing procedures
