Job summary

BlackCube Labs in Tucson, AZ is seeking a hands-on Robotics Automation Engineer to design, prototype, integrate, test, and troubleshoot complex robotic systems, including robotics, motion control, machine vision, and automation integration.

You will work with cross-functional Agile teams to develop mechanical, electrical, and software prototypes, apply machine vision for calibration, sensor integration, and system validation, and document results for ongoing research projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in robotics, mechatronics, or related field.
• 8+ years with a Bachelor's, 4+ with a Master's, or 2+ with a PhD in relevant field.
• Strong knowledge of robotics, motion control, sensing, and automation.
• Hands-on experience assembling, integrating, testing, and debugging robotics systems.
• Prototyping across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
• Experience with servo/stepper motors, encoders, feedback, and PID control.
• Experience with machine vision for calibration or guidance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, integrate, and test robotics and automation prototypes.
• Develop mechanical, electrical, and software components for complex robotic systems.
• Integrate motion control systems, sensors, actuators, encoders, and platforms.
• Apply machine vision for object detection, guidance, and calibration.
• Perform simulations, experiments, testing, and analysis to validate performance.
• Develop and evaluate new components and automation solutions for research.
