Spectraforce Technologies seeks a Robotics Automation Engineer (Research and Early Development) to join our onsite team in Tucson, AZ. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a directly related discipline plus 8y experience
• MS degree in directly related discipline with 4 years of related experience
• PhD degree in directly related discipline with 2 years of related experience
• Expert knowledge of robotic/mechatronic engineering, motion control, sensing and coordinate systems
• Hands-on assembly and robotics/automation systems experience
• Experience with robot software (ABB RobotStudio) and CAD software (SolidWorks)

Responsibilities

• Applies advanced engineering knowledge to research projects related to process automation and integration
• Participates in defining new components, products or processes for pathology lab applications
• Creates potentially patentable components for systems or processes
• Receives general direction and exercises discretion as to work details
• Performs simulations, analyses and experiments to test hypotheses
• Designs, builds and tests prototype hardware and software to achieve goals
• Prepares and delivers presentations of project results to diverse audiences
• Participates in project planning as part of a cross-functional agile technical team
• Other duties as assigned by management
