Job summary

Scale AI's Robotics Lab in San Francisco seeks a hands-on operations and technical owner to support robot production and data collection. You will manage hardware, inventory, and logistics while partnering across teams to productionize maintenance and expand robotics capabilities.

You will build tracking and analytics for uptime and failure modes, gain deep domain knowledge of the robotics platforms, and contribute to cross-functional roadmaps with a strong ownership mindset.

Qualifications

• Academic background or industry experience in engineering.
• 5+ years in hardware labs or manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on robotics, AI, and/or computer vision experience.
• Experience managing risk and operating robots safely.
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of the Lab by bringing up and maintaining robots and collection hardware.
• Manage physical inventory, maintain equipment, and coordinate logistics.
• Provide technical support for data collection operations.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to bring up new robots and productionize maintenance.
• Build uptime, utilization, and failure mode tracking systems for leadership guidance.
• Become a subject matter expert on robotics platform capabilities deployed in the factory.
• Develop expertise in 2D/3D imaging, multi-sensor fusion, calibration, GPS/INS, computer vision, and autonomy-adjacent concepts.
• Communicate effectively across internal and external organizations to align on lab priorities and roadmaps.
