Job summary

Machina Labs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical hardware design for our robotic sheet forming cells, from concept through release and production. You will shape machine subsystems, define interfaces, and drive reliability with cross-functional teams.

The role requires proven experience owning complex subsystems in industrial robotics or automation, collaborating with Robotics, Forming Process, Electrical, Controls, and Production to deliver robust hardware.

Qualifications

• Experience owning a complex mechanical subsystem on industrial machinery or robotics.
• Ability to take designs from concept to production with verification.
• Strong collaboration with Robotics, Electrical, Controls, and Production teams.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical hardware design from concept through release to production.
• Define interfaces and lead change control with relevant teams.
• Design fluid and thermal systems including cooling and lubrication.
• Integrate sensing and coordinate with electrical/controls teams.
• Create and maintain release documents and CAD drawings with GD&T.
• Lead design reviews and assess safety risks with the team.
• Coordinate with fabrication suppliers and drive quality improvements.
