Job summary
Machina Labs is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Automotive department as we develop and scale advanced metal forming and manufacturing processes for automotive applications. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to transition components from development into repeatable production.
You will help improve manufacturability, tooling, process flow, quality, and production efficiency while supporting the integration of formed components into automotive
Qualifications
- 5+ years in manufacturing or operations engineering.
- Experience in low- to mid-volume production environments.
- Proficient in BOM management converting EBOMs to MBOMs.
- Design production fixtures, jigs, and tooling with CAD.
- Familiar with ERP/MRP systems for planning and tracking.
- Strong CAD skills in 2D/3D tools and layouts.
- Excellent cross-functional communication capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and scale manufacturing processes for automotive components.
- Create jigs, fixtures, and tooling; validate with CAD and analyses.
- Produce detailed work instructions and process documentation.
- Plan routing, scheduling, and material flow with ERP/MRP systems.
- Collaborate to improve workflows, layouts, and throughput.
- Estimate costs and define tooling or equipment needs.
- Support DFMs and engineering changes, and first article inspections.
- Troubleshoot fabrication and assembly issues on the floor.
- Maintain accurate manufacturing documentation and records.
