Job summary

Fresh Consulting in Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior Robotics Engineer focused on perception and applied AI to design and deploy perception stacks across multiple robot platforms.

You will own CV/ML pipelines, fuse sensor data, mentor engineers, collaborate with hardware and cloud teams, and occasionally participate in client scoping calls to assess feasibility.

Candidates bring 3+ years in robotics, strong Python/C++, PyTorch, ROS 2, OpenCV, and experience deploying models at the edge.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in CS, Robotics, EE or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years in robotics or CV/ML; expert Python and C++.
• Deep PyTorch experience across the full model lifecycle.
• Hands-on OpenCV and classical CV techniques.
• Deep experience with sensor fusion (camera, LiDAR, IMU) and calibration.
• Excellent knowledge of ROS 2; integrate perception with navigation/planning.
• Proficient with Docker, Linux CLI, shell scripting, and Git.

Responsibilities

• Design and own CV/ML pipeline architecture end-to-end: data collection, dataset curation, training, evaluation, edge deployment.
• Choose optimal approach per problem using CV detectors or foundation models as appropriate.
• Develop, deploy and maintain the data engine pipeline with auto-labeling and synthetic data generation.
• Fuse data from RGB-D cameras, LiDAR and IMUs; manage multi-modal approaches.
• Maintain IoT and fleet pipelines for OTA updates and telemetry.
• Define perception requirements and verify with test automation.
• Mentor engineers on the Fresh Robotics team; review designs and code.
• Collaborate with hardware, cloud, and software teams for integration and risk management.
• Participate in client scoping calls as a technical advisor.
