Saragossa is seeking a Lead Perception Engineer to help a growing robotics platform understand messy, real-world job sites. You will own data intake from cameras and sensors, parsing and categorization, and ensure data reaches the planner to determine actions.

You’ve built perception systems from real-world data into actionable environmental representations. 3D vision is central; outdoor robots, manipulation with deep learning, and learning from demonstration are highly valued.

A robotics company is building a platform that lets robots understand messy, unpredictable job sites and act on what they find. They need the engineer who turns the real world into something a robot can reason about. You’ll own how data comes in from cameras and sensors, how it gets parsed and categorized, and how it reaches the planning system so it can work out what to do.

To be a fit, you’ve done this before and can prove it. You’ve built perception systems that collected real-world data and turned it into a usable picture of the environment. 3D vision is core here. Experience with robots that work outdoors, deep learning for manipulation, or exposure to human demonstration and imitation learning will all stand out.

Years of experience matter less than results, ownership and the ability to keep up with a field that moves daily. You’ll be one of three hires building the core stack side by side with an agentic AI engineer and a robot learning engineer, and once it’s built you’ll continue as a lead voice on how the company approaches perception.

Ideally you're based in Chicago, Boston or San Francisco.
