Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Irving, TX is seeking experienced robotics generalists to own end-to-end autonomy components—from perception through motion to control—on real machines at customer sites.

You will work across the stack, contribute deeply in at least one domain, and ship production-ready software using C++ and Python, ROS, and ML-based methods. Domestic relocation is available and visa sponsorship is not.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related engineering experience.
• Expertise in at least one: AI, motion planning, perception, controls, or SLAM.
• Production-quality C++ and Python.
• ROS (or similar) in real robotics systems.
• Full-lifecycle product experience—from idea to production.

Responsibilities

• Participating in test review, witness, and certification of robotics software.
• Design, build, and ship autonomy components across perception, planning, control, and learning.
• Take work from prototype to production on real hardware.
• Deepen specialty while contributing across the stack.
• Work in small, outcome-owning pods.
