Job summary

Genesis AI seeks a senior control systems engineer to design, implement, and optimize the embedded control stack for general-purpose robots, leading real-world robotics software development.

You will work across dynamics, sensing, and optimization, bridging hardware and software with an emphasis on robust end-to-end systems and advancing RL/vision-language-action models for versatile robotics applications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years designing, implementing, and deploying advanced control algorithms on real robotic systems.
• Deep knowledge of dynamics, kinematics, optimal control, and state estimation.
• Strong command of hardware interfaces, sensors (IMUs, F/T sensors), and actuation (motors, gearboxes, drivers).
• Production-level mastery of C++ with a track record of safe, reliable software.
• Ability to bridge hardware, software, and algorithms to deliver end-to-end robotics solutions.
• Open mindset toward deep learning, RL, and vision-language-action models for general-purpose robotics.
• Bonus: experience shipping humanoid or whole-body control systems.
• Bonus: published work in control theory, state estimation, or optimization.
• Bonus: familiarity with parallel GPU computation to accelerate optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize the embedded control stack for general-purpose robots
• Design motion planning and trajectory optimization for dynamic locomotion and manipulation
• Build real-time state estimation pipelines for pose, contact, and force sensing
• Formulate and solve optimal control problems (nonlinear MPC, convex optimization, trajectory optimization) for high-performance behavior
• Build modular software frameworks enabling rapid iteration between simulation and hardware
• Lead debugging, tuning, and validation of controllers directly on physical robots
