Job summary

Generalist is seeking a seasoned robotics software engineer to own the software that controls our robots. You will collaborate with ML to translate output intentions into smooth, safe, and responsive actions across multiple robot embodiments, and work with hardware partners to ensure optimal system behavior.

Key responsibilities include designing and testing the full real-time control stack and owning diverse robot platforms from stock arms to customized hardware.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in rigid body kinematics and robotic controls.
• Proven ability to bring robots into production environments with stringent reliability requirements.
• High-performance, production-ready Python and C++ development.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and testing the entire real-time control system from the low-level firmware to the input spec for each embodiment we have
• Ownership over a wide variety of robot embodiments from stock industrial co-bot arms to custom hardware
