Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years, Master’s with 2+ years, or a PhD with 1+ years of automation/robotics experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of robotics, automation, electromechanical systems, controls, sensors and instrumentation.
- Translate scientific workflow constraints into safe, maintainable machinery and layouts.
- Strong documentation, FAT/SAT/UAT records, and vendor follow-up skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy robotic workcells, transfer stations, labware nests, fixtures, guards and sensors.
- Integrate orchestration software, device drivers, robot controllers, PLCs and IT/OT infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, robotic, control and communication issues; drive root cause analysis and improvements.
- Support FAT/SAT, safety reviews and vendor follow‑up; contribute to layout and testing simulations.
- Develop recovery instructions for jams and faults and ensure safe restart procedures.
