Job summary

Amazon Robotics seeks a Sr. Robotics Mechanical Engineer for Rotary Actuator Systems to own design, development and validation of high-torque rotary actuators for global robotic platforms.

You will architect motor systems, perform FEA and prototype testing, guiding end-to-end delivery while collaborating with teams across manufacturing and supply chain. The role emphasizes BlDC motors, QDD and Strain Wave Gearings, with a focus on high-volume production and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience designing functional specifications and test procedures.
• Leadership in cross-functional engineering teams is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own actuator design and documentation for rotary actuator programs.
• Lead topology, magnet selection, FEA, and thermal modeling of actuators.
• Drive architectural breakthroughs and maintain manufacturability.
• Collaborate across Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality.
