Alert Venture Foundry is seeking a Senior Robotic Systems Engineer to shape the architecture and integration of complex robotic systems. You’ll own system-level architecture and coordinate contributions across mechanical, electrical, software, and controls engineering to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

This hybrid role moves from concepts and prototypes through validation to real-world deployment, guiding technical decisions as solutions mature.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years in systems engineering/robotics.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and system-level architectures for robotics/automation.
• Strong background in sensors, vision, actuators, and embedded systems.
• Knowledge of control theory, kinematics, dynamics, and real-time systems.
• Proficiency in Python and C++, plus strong technical communication.
• Experience with ROS is a plus.

About the Role

As a Senior Robotic Systems Engineer at AVF, you’ll operate at the intersection of hardware and software development, shaping the architecture and integration of complex robotic systems. You’ll own system-level architecture, coordinating contributions across mechanical, electrical, software, and controls engineering to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. You’ll guide technical decisions and move innovative solutions from early concepts and prototypes through validation and real-world deployment. This is a hybrid role: Monday–Thursday onsite; Friday remote as appropriate.

What You’ll Do

• Establish design system requirements, specifications, and architecture for complex robotic platforms.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, software, and controls solutions.
• Identify technical risks and drive structured analysis, experimentation, verification, and design reviews.
• Develop and refine robotic capabilities involving motion planning, perception, localization, and controls.
• Select and evaluate sensors supporting robotic intelligence, navigation, and motion.
• Help ensure compliance with applicable robotics safety and regulatory requirements; maintain clear technical documentation.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline and 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, robotics, or a related field.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts and developing system-level architectures, particularly in robotics, industrial automation, drones, or related technologies
• Strong foundation in robotic systems integration, including sensors, vision systems, actuators, and embedded systems
• Knowledge of control theory, kinematics, dynamics, and real-time systems
• Proficiency in Python, C++, or another high-level programming language
• Strong analytical problem-solving, experimental design, and technical communication skills

Preferred, but Not Required

• Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System), localization, and mapping systems
• Experience conducting hazard analyses and risk assessments for machinery functional safety
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing, high-reliability systems, or fielded robotic platforms
