Job summary

Walden Robotics is seeking a senior, hands-on engineer to build and scale its simulation platform for general-purpose robots. You will own core simulator and tooling components to evaluate and improve policies faster than real-world testing allows, working closely with autonomy and infrastructure teams to keep simulation fast, reliable, and easy to use.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, performance tuning, and leadership of a small team of simulation engineers, with the goal of shrinking

Qualifications

• Simulation expertise in physics, rendering, or robotics simulation with hands-on platform experience (e.g., Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, Drake).
• Strong Python and/or C++ skills with production-grade, high-performance parallel systems.
• Ability to profile complex systems, diagnose bottlenecks, and measure performance, reliability, and the sim-to-real gap.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a high-fidelity simulation platform for prototyping, testing, and validating robot behaviors.
• Establish benchmarks, optimize rendering, physics, and pipeline execution to accelerate iteration and throughput.
• Build scalable evaluation infrastructure that yields reliable training signals and rapid iteration.
• Define, measure, and reduce the sim-to-real gap while expanding simulation coverage and realism.
• Mentor simulation engineers and collaborate with autonomy and infrastructure teams.
