Job summary

1X is building humanoid home robots to perform chores and assist families. As a Senior Operator in the Data Collection team, you will execute robot operations and generate high-quality real-world data to train and improve our robots’ behavior, in both lab and residential environments.

You will follow SOPs, maintain safety and data integrity, and help optimize data-collection workflows while supporting AI data generation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience operating robots, technical systems, or similar hands-on operational equipment.
• Ability to follow structured procedures with precision and consistency.
• Comfortable working in VR environments and performing physically active tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and wear equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
• Availability to work flexible schedules including swing shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Execute robot operation and data collection workflows with high accuracy, consistency, and adherence to SOPs.
• Produce high-quality annotated datasets and detailed issue reporting that improve AI model training and robot performance.
• Maintain operational readiness of robots, equipment, and data collection environments across assigned shifts.
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and contribute measurable improvements to SOPs, tooling, and operational scalability.
• Support successful robot sessions in lab and residential environments while maintaining safety, professionalism, and data integrity.
