Job summary

Black Rock Coffee Bar in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Roaster to lead coffee production from roasting to packing. You will manage inventory, train teammates, and ensure the quality and freshness of our beans, supporting both store and online orders.

This full-time, on-site role requires hands-on roasting, equipment upkeep, and precise documentation to maintain high standards and efficient production flows in a busy warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in coffee roasting techniques to maintain quality and consistency.
• Ability to operate, maintain, and clean roasting/packaging equipment following schedules.
• Strong team collaboration and willingness to train others in roasting tasks.
• Excellent communication to document activities and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage inventory and workflow.

Responsibilities

• Calculate weekly roasting requirements from stock levels and Shopify orders.
• Perform daily coffee roasting to meet store and online demand.
• Conduct quality control tasks including cupping and sampling.
• Record inventory movements and follow FIFO practices.
• Prepare packaging and ensure production targets are met.
• Maintain equipment and cleanliness; operate forklift when needed.
• Cross-train across departments to support production needs.
